Research Activities

Methods and technologies for knowledge logistics and for intelligent management of virtual resource networks.

Recent Results

1. The technology of intelligent support for decision making on dynamic configuration of network organizations is developed. It is based on the representation of participants’ competencies in terms of Web-services which they provide, with their subsequent semantic dynamic composition. Semantic models for discovery and composition of Web-services described in WSDL standard, enable the developed technology. They include (i) the query expansion mechanism over problem domain ontology, (ii) definitions of similarity of functional properties of services (inputs, outputs, preconditions and effects) on the basis of matching types (equality, inequality and similarity), and (iii) ranging of alternative services based on the similarity degree (exact, with redundant and missing information). The proposed technology allows building service-oriented network organizations with better matching to their business purposes [1-30, 34-37].

2. The theoretical and practical questions of data extraction from Wiktionary are elaborated. Wiktionary is a multilingual, web-based free content dictionary, available in over 151 languages (in Russian Wiktionary there are more than 300 languages). In order to store the lexicographic data extracted from Russian Wiktionary results were obtained: (i) rules for extracting data (in the form of regular expressions and program functions), (ii) database structure (tables and relations), and (iii) application programming interface to this database was developed. The structure of the developed database corresponds to the sections of the Wiktionary article. The application programming interface allows reading, writing and searching for data in this database. The graphical user interface was implemented, which allows presenting the word-cards to the user. The work aimed at the creation of a machine-readable dictionary based on the data from Russian Wiktionary (it contains more than 230 thousands dictionary entries). Due to a big number of articles and many-sided word’s descriptions the Wiktionary is an important linguistics resource, e.g. for such tasks as information search, ontology alignment, word sense disambiguation, spell checking, machine translation, etc. [13, 31-33].

3. A specification method of interacting dynamic system simulation models complex was developed. The complex has a holonic structure. An expanded situation-event formalism was worked out, which enables to specify processes in the complex models taking into account the models interacting with each other and with the environment. The formalism developed enables to specify processes of complex model states changing that makes possible to simulate complicated system structural dynamics. In terms of this formalism the second version of a computer environment for complicated dynamic system simulation was worked out. The environment was approved via development of the industrial air-separating installation “ÀæÊ-0,02” [38-39].
